Mixed media on paper

In February, while visiting with family in South Africa, I created this image on A0 size paper.
Its a mixture of charcoal and acrylic and I used a palette knife to apply paint. Its not often that I start an artwork without an idea of what I want the end result to be. This was a great exercise...
It has also piqued an interest in acrylics. It seems almost a 'playful' medium as opposed to Oils.
Also, the colours are vibrant.
This is a fun, expressive image. Looks like you really did enjoy yourself here!
